Any law abiding, U.S. citizen. We train everyone from first time shooters to law enforcement and military professionals.
Our 4-hour courses require a minimum of 250 rounds, while our 8-hour courses require at least 500 rounds. Extra ammo is always a good thing. No green tip rifle ammo is allowed, it damages steel targets.
Pistol 1, 2, & 3 and Rifle 1, 2, & 3 are all 4-hour courses. Gunfighters are our 8-hour courses, essentially a combination of Level 1 & 2, or 2 & 3, depending on the experience level of the shooters. Generally, we offer the 4-hour courses in our home based states (GA, FL, SC, TX, & PA), while we offer the 8-hour Gunfighter courses in states we travel to and visit periodically.
For our pistol courses, you'll need a pistol, a holster on a sturdy belt, 3 magazines, and hearing & eye protection. Wear weather appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes, and a hat with brim is useful. Always bring hydration. Bring snacks and a sack lunch for 8-hour courses.
For our rifle courses, you'll need a carbine style rifle (AR-15, M4, AK-47) with a sling, and 3 magazines. Red dot optics or LPVO's are preferred. Rifle Level 2 & 3 courses also require you to have the pistol set up as well. Wear weather appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes, and a hat with brim is useful. Always bring hydration. Bring snacks and a sack lunch for 8-hour courses.
For our Night Fighter courses, you can use either pistol and/or rifle. You'll need a weapon mounted light, and a handheld light. Bring extra batteries. If you are new to night vision, you can bring them, as well. Gun fights commonly occur in the dark. Night Fighter teaches you to shoot in the dark, using the equipment you own.
For our CQB courses, you'll need a holster that fits a Glock 17. You will NOT need a firearm, instead you will use our simmunition Glock pistols. We supply the simmunition Glocks, magazines, & ammo. Wear a long sleeve shirt and bring gloves. If you have your own paintball style mask/helmet, bring it. Men, wear a cup. We offer loaner helmets if you don't have your own. For our CQB 3 course, bring your own AR-15 style rifle, but leave out the bolt and magazines. We provide simmunition bolts, magazines, & ammo. No folding stock adaptors, JP enterprise or PDW buffers, etc. The simmunition bolts only work with standard AR-15 rifles.
Train how you fight. If you own plate carriers, battle belts, helmets, etc., feel free to wear them. The best way to learn your gear is to wear it during training.
Some of our instructors are POST certified LEO instructors. Others are military veterans. So, POST credit depends on which instructor is teaching your course. Email info@cetsusa.com to inquire.
We've found that most people can't shoot nearly as well as they think they can. Even if they grew up shooting every weekend on their uncle's farm. Pistol 1 and Rifle 1 courses teach the fundamentals of true marksmanship, which all our other courses build on. However, if you have already attended a high-quality training course, or have formal LEO or military training, email info@cetsusa.com to inquire about by-passing our Level 1 courses.
No.
Different ranges charge us different range rental fees. Often, they charge us for use of targets, cleaning fees, etc. The range fee depends on what range your course is hosted at, so we simply pass this on instead of adding it to our regular registration cost. The average range fee is $30-50 per day. You can pay this on the register now page by the training waiver. This range fee is for only RIFLE/PISTOL Classes and US classes only. CQB, speciality classes, and international are a different fee.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. As you know, our instructors are active-duty special operations and/or SWAT officers. On occasion, our instructors get called away for those duties. We reserve the right to reschedule a course such an occasion occurs.
Also, many of our courses incur substantial travel costs. If a course does not solicit enough sign-ups to cover travel costs, we will reschedule the course, again same policy applies as the above. We reserve the right to class reschedule with if a registered student cannot attend the course he/she is scheduled for, he/she must notify us at least two-weeks prior, and we will reschedule the student into another course. If a student no-shows, or does not provide proper notification by email to info@cetsusa.com , no reschedule will be offered.
There are no refunds otherwise. DO NOT MESSAGE US 24 hours before a class asking for a reschedule. It is on you to determine what and which class to take. We will not follow up with you or remind you about any additional courses. You must check the website and or social media pages for updated calendar. It is 100% on you to reach out. When wishing to sign up for a makeup class please email us the week of the course at info@cetsusa.com
In the event of a cancellation, CETS is not responsible for non-refundable airfares, other airfare penalties, or any other travel charges or expenses you may incur.
We understand that cancellations occur when situations arise that are out of the span of our control. Course registration fees are 100% non-refundable. Students who fail to contact CETSUSA to provide notice will not be afforded the credit for another training date. Further, in the event any course is cancelled by CETSUSA a future course date will be implemented for students to attend or receive a credit for a future class.
