Rifle Course Descriptions

Students must bring a rifle with a sling, 3 magazines, ammo, hearing & eye protection.  Red dot or LPVO optics are preferred.  Pistol set up are required for Rifle 2, 3, and Gunfighter courses. Wear weather appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes, and a hat with brim.  Bring hydration and snacks.  Bring a sack lunch for 8-hour courses.

Rifle 1

Rifle 1 Operator (beginner), 4 hours

Rifle 2 Operator (intermediate), 4 hours

Rifle 2 Operator (intermediate), 4 hours

Minimum 250 rounds.

  • Firearm safety and handling.
  • Shooting fundamentals.
  • Up drills.
  • Speed reloads.
  • Malfunction clearing.
  • Failure to stop drills.
  • Positional shooting.
  • Increased distance shooting.

Rifle 2 Operator (intermediate), 4 hours

Minimum 250 rounds.

  • Firearm safety and handling.
  • Shooting fundamentals review.
  • Position Sul.
  • Tactical reloads
  • Support side shooting.
  • Weapon transitions.
  • Advanced positional shooting.
  • Barricade & cover usage.

Combat Rifle 3 (advanced), 4 hours

Combat Rifle 3 (advanced), 4 hours

Minimum 250 rounds.  Plate carrier, battle belt, full kit set up recommended (but not required).  This is our most advanced course.  This is where you learn to win gun fights.

  • Shooting on the move.
  • React to contact (Active Shooter).
  • Stress shooting & combat course.

Gunfighter Rifle, 8 hours

Designated Marksman, 8 hours

Combat Rifle 3 (advanced), 4 hours

Minimum 500 rounds.

  • Pistol 1 skills.
  • Pistol 2 skills.
  • Stress shooting & combat course.

Intro to Rifle, 2 hours

This is our 2-hour course for individuals brand new to shooting, with absolutely no experience at all. Minimum 100 rounds of ammunition.

  • Firearm safety & handling.
  • Loading & unloading.
  • Storage.
  • Zeroing.
  • Basic fundamentals.

300 yards or more (depending on range logistics). Required equipment:

  • Minimum 14.5" barrel, 16" preferred.
  • Magnified optic. minimum 3X. Bullet drop compensator reticles helpful.
  • Shooting mat preferred.
  • Bipod and/or shooting bags.
  • Pen & paper
  • 200 rounds
